Idiom anNOYances

These occur mostly in speech and rarely in legal writing, but they annoy me.

begs the question
≠ raises the question

draw a line in the sand ≠ define the boundaries of something

all over the map ≠ being present in many places

off the wall ≠ out of control

    The usually don't add anything to speaking or writing, and are often flubbed.
